“Governor Lamont’s proposal to upgrade school HVAC systems in dire need of repair would provide real and essential funding assistance to local governments, their school districts and hard-pressed property taxpayers.” 

“CCM commends the Governor for advancing this critically needed public-health initiative. CCM convened key education advocates and identified the need early last fall to initiate a state-local funding partnership to improve school HVAC systems and assure air quality improvements in public schools.” 

“The cost for needed HVAC repairs in schools across the state would overwhelm municipal resources, and the impact of adequate air filtration on student learning, especially during a pandemic, is crystal clear; as is the health fallout for teachers and students as a result of bad air quality in schools.” 

“Town and city leaders remain vigilant on all public health issues as COVID cases continue to decline; and the quality of indoor air in public schools remains critical in good times and bad for the health and safety of our students, teachers and staff.”
