Key Benefits

Educational Programs. LPA members have access to all of CCM's Municipal Training live or pre-recorded workshops/webinars and materials covering topics such as Grant Writing, FOIA, Customer Service, Ethics, and Effective Public Meetings. Members can also attend educational events that include 15+ workshops in-person at CCM's Spring Emergency Management Symposium and Annual Convention while having the opportunity to pursue the Certified Connecticut Municipal Official (CCMO) and Certified Civic Policy Leader (CCPL) designation through CCM's Connecticut Municipal Leadership Academy.

Research & Information. Members can request information and research on topics related to municipal government and operations. CCM also provides research and information publications covering a variety of topics, as well as information kits on current "hot topics," giving members access to timely resources and information.

Advocacy (State & Federal). Through the membership, you can recommend proposals for consideration in CCM's legislative program and obtain information on the status of legislation that may affect their organizations. Members also benefit from CCM's extensive advocacy efforts at the state level on issues affecting Connecticut's local governments and communities.

CCM Website. Members have access to a wide range of resources and information through CCM's members-only website. LPA members can also post open positions and Requests for Proposals/Qualifications (RFP/Qs) on CCM's Job Bank at the member rate.

Other Benefits. LPA members have access to the Municipal Labor Relations Data Service, Municipal Directory, Directory of Products & Services, and Connecticut Town & City magazine. Members can also take advantage of competitively bid group purchasing programs such as, energy use and cost-reduction services, on-site drug and alcohol testing, and CCM's Municipal Consulting Service.
