Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Quality Assurance, Construction Technology, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a closely related field, with eight years related experience. A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of this position may be considered in lieu of stated requirements. A minimum of two years supervisory or management experience is required. In all cases, thorough knowledge of construction and building practices, familiarity with CT Basic Building Code and demonstrated ability to effectively lead, supervise and coordinate the work of inspectors in multiple phases of the inspection process are desirable. State licensure as a Certified Building Official required. Connecticut Association of Zoning Enforcement Officials Certification preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
