PRESS ADVISORY TO: REPORTERS, EDITORS, AND TV & RADIO NEWS DIRECTORS
More than 70 municipal leaders from every region of the state, all members of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), the statewide association of towns and cities, will assemble for a CCM “Day on the Hill” on Tuesday, March 1.
CCM-member mayors, first selectmen, and town/city managers will conduct a news conference that morning to emphasize their legislative priorities for the key next two months of the 2016 state legislative session.
State legislative leaders will also participate in the news conference to speak to their support on these priority municipal issues – gaining key reforms to the State’s new municipal spending cap; enacting needed legislation to battle residential and commercial blight in communities; and achieving some real relief for towns from unfunded state mandates.
