Selecting the best candidates from the start can avoid costly problems for organizations later.  This training will provide a comprehensive overview of the background screening process from recruitment through the employee's start date.  It will include discussion of the legal issues and common pitfalls.  Best Practices for hiring processes and background screening procedures will be shared that follow applicable law and help enable employers to hire the right people.

At the conclusion of this workshop, attendees will be able to:

• Describe common legal issues regarding background checks

• Identify the important questions that should be asked of any candidate

• List several open source methods that can be utilized for background investigations

• Understand the components of a comprehensive background screening program
