Facilitates and assists in the issuance of various permits for the City. Under the general direction of the Building Official or designee, responsible for providing reporting, financial, software, research, administrative and customer support services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate administration of building permits and records associated therewith. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of higher level staff as assigned, but significant leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative.

Responsibilities include greeting applicants, explaining procedures for acquiring permits, trouble shooting, scheduling appointments and answering questions to facilitate the permit process. Responsible for procurement procedures, purchase order requisitions, fee deposits and accounting and maintaining established department general ledger account. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualification Requirements back to top

Graduation from an accredited college with at least an Associate’s Degree (AS) in a business concentration or administrative office technology and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and/or office work OR any equivalent combination of training, education and experience as described above.
