Provides administrative and professional engineering supervision in the organizing, planning, and implementation of the operation and maintenance of a 10 MGD waste water collection and treatment system including treatment plant, pump stations and sewer mains. Maintains contact with Public, State and Federal Regulatory Agencies. Determines priorities, participates in long-range planning, formulates operating policies, and establishes division objectives.

Knowledge of: processes and equipment involved in waste water treatment; managerial, administrative and accounting practices for successful plant operation; industrial wastes and their effects on treatment processes and equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in sanitary, civil, chemical or mechanical engineering; 5 years of increasing responsible experience in sewage treatment at a supervisory/management level.
Connecticut Class III Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators Certification required; Connecticut Class IV Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators Certification required within 3 years of hire. Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Regularly required to sit, stand, talk; regularly works in indoor or office environment; performs plant inspections. Occasional exposure to weather, fumes, odors and risk of bodily injury; possible exposure to toxic conditions.
