O’Leary elected vice president of CCM

WATERBURY REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN, November, 14 2016

WATERBURY – Dozen of delegates attending the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities’ annual conference at Foxwoods Resort Casino Monday unanimously eelcted Mayor Neil M. O’Leary the group’s vice president.

The appointment puts O’Leary closer to the top of an organization that lobbies on behalf of the governments of most of the state’s cities and towns. O’Leary had already served on the group’s executive committee.

Takes office in January back to top

The appointment becomes effective Jan. 1 and puts O’Leary in line for president the following year.

“I was very pleased to do it because I’ve been really learning a lot from CCM over the last several years and getting a lot of good ideas and brining them back to Waterbury,” O’Leary said. “I think it’s a great responsibility and I’m really looking forward to working with the other 159 cities and towns.”
