Monroe plays 'Biggest Loser'
To promote weight control, the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is offering a local version of “The Biggest Loser” reality television show.
In the homegrown version, people who sign up for the weight loss program will be divided into teams, each taking exercise classes, following customized meal plans and engaging in online nutritional training.
Vania Isaac, the certified trainer who will lead the classes, said she got the idea of doing a weight loss program in winter because many people wait until summer to think about shedding pounds.
The class will be limited to 20 people, at a cost of $350 for residents. Prizes might include a free pass to the town park.
