The Town of Stratford, pop. 50,256, is looking for a strong public sector HR Generalist with solid background in municipal labor relations. The ideal candidate is a visionary change agent who will provide leadership to assure that the HR Department continues to lead the organization with innovative best practices supporting an employee population of approximately 500 FT/PT employees.
The position requires experience in a full-service HR environment; knowledge in recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits; experience with collective bargaining, training and employee development; familiar with risk management, workplace safety, performance appraisal, and equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, and employment law. The candidate will have the ability to establish effective working relationships, strong leadership and managerial skills, the ability to interact readily with Department Directors, be a good listener, have strong interpersonal skills, and be of high integrity.
Candidate must possess at least 10 years Human Resources experience with at least
5 years in directing the Human Resources/Labor Relations function, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources or Public Administration.
