The Town of Vernon is accepting applications for the position of Data Processing Programmer / Systems Analyst. Under the direction of Data Processing Director, the position plans and performs analytical and network design and administration, systems development and application production activities for the Town departments and Board of Education. Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of networking, security, computer operating procedures and standards will be required.

Requirements include BS in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field and three years of increasingly responsible experience, or Certified Network Engineer, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, or 3Com Certification, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and/or training in VMware, VDI, SonicWalls, SAN (Fiber Channel), VPN to VPN tunneling, enterprise backup systems, VoIP, MUNIS, QDS, VISION, FIRE HOUSE, SMARTSEARCH, GEOTMS, ACTIVENET, and QSCEND will be given additional consideration.
