Thursday, November 1, 2007
ITBD, 185 Main St., 3rd Floor, New Britain, CT
9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Registration 8:30 a.m..
DESCRIPTION
Sexual Harassment
Prevention: It’s the Law
State and federal legislation outlaws sexual
harassment in the workplace.
Sexual harassment prevention requires knowledgeable employees and
well-trained supervisors. Supervisors need to know the requirements of
the law, how to recognize situations that can create a hostile environment,
and how to take action should an incident or complaint arise.
Failure to train or take action can be costly to municipalities. Penalties
for sexual harassment include:
- Cease And Desist Orders
- Back Pay
- Hiring, Promotion Or Reinstatement
- Compensatory Damages
It is the employer’s responsibility to
maintain an environment that is free
from harassing behavior. Make sure
all your supervisors and staff are
adequately trained to meet this
requirement. Prevent the cost, morale problems, and embarrassment
sexual harassment claims can cause. Register for this lowcost
training program today!
| THE CONNECTICUT FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES ACT
(Section 46a-60(a)(8) of the Connecticut General Statutes) requires
employers of 50 or more employees to provide sexual harassment
prevention training for all supervisory new hires and promotions
within six (6) months of start date. Attending this workshop meets
the training requirements of Connecticut law. |
