DESCRIPTION
Negotiating Tactics, Trends and Hot Topics
With the economy forcing towns to cut back and employees
worrying about how job security, wage increases, and insurance
benefits will be affected, municipal staff have the tough job of
negotiating employee benefits while sticking to tight budgets.
This workshop will provide creative solutions and to gain
experience to deal with labor contracts. You will hear from a
leading attorney and benefits specialist regarding everything
from concessions to wage freezes, copays
and shared premium
costs.
Bring your questions and leave with answers and the knowledge
to best negotiate in tough economic times.

Kainen, Escalera, & McHale, P.C.
Ken specializes in public and private sector labor relations and
employment law. He received his J.D. from Boston University
and practices law in CT, MA, and NJ. Ken is a member of several
national and local public employer labor relations associations
including CAMA and CABE. In 2003 Ken received the Hartford
Business Journal’s "Forty Under 40" Award.
