PANELISTS
Laurie G. Cain, Esq. has over 17 years of experience as a fulltime
arbitrator, mediator and fact-finder in both the public
and private sectors conducting grievance, interest and teacher
termination arbitrations. She received her Bachelors of
Science in Education from the University of Connecticut
and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
John M. Romanow, Esq. is an arbitrator with the Connecticut
State Board of Mediation & Arbitration. He received his
Bachelors of Science from the School of Industrial and Labor
Relations from Cornell University and his J.D., cum laude,
from New York Law School.
Barbara J. Collins, Esq. has for over twenty-five years
represented labor unions, individual employees and multiemployer
pension and health and welfare trust funds in
labor and employement matters. In 2000 she was appointed
to the State of Connecticut Board of Mediation and Arbitration
as an arbitrator representing the interests of labor.
Ms. Collins is a graduate of the University of Connecticut
and its Law School, and the New York State School of
Industrial Relations at Cornell University.
Martin F. Scheinman, Esq. has been a full time ad hoc and
contract arbitrator in private and public sector disputes since
1978. He has arbitrated over 10,000 disputes throughout
the United States. He has been an Interest Arbitrator in over
200 disputes. He received his Bachelors of Science from the
School of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell
University and his J.D. from New York University School
of Law.
Saranne P. Murray, Esq. represents public and private
sector employers and non-profit organizations in all aspects
of employee relations and employment law. Ms. Murray is
counsel to a significant number of municipalities and serves
as special counsel to the State of Connecticut. She received
her Bachelors of Arts from Emmanuel College and her J.D.,
summa cum laude, from the University of Connecticut
School of Law.
