The Town of East Hampton is seeking an experienced Police Chief to lead its department of 15 sworn officers and 2 civilian employees.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, a Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred; a completion of advanced management training, such as the FBI National Academy or equivalent executive level training is preferred; Connecticut POST certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable amount of time and 15 years of progressively responsible police experience with at least five years of supervisory experience holding a command staff rank or higher. Experience or education may be substituted to meet requirements.

Within one year of appointment, the Chief must establish and maintain residency in the Town of East Hampton or an adjoining town east of the Connecticut River.
