As an experienced Claims Litigation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to provide prompt and thorough investigations of complex automobile, general liability and professional lines claims, designed to establish and document the material facts with respect to each claim assigned consistent with the proper claim handling procedures.  To make a timely and reasonable determination of liability and relative probable exposure to pay each claim based on the facts.  To appropriately deny and defend all claims for which the client insured is not liable and to evaluate and expeditiously resolve those claims for which liability is probable in an equitable manner.  Manages caseload of complex claim files, which require municipal law expertise, evaluation and negotiation expertise.  New assignments will include professional lines claims and/or suits and cases involving bodily injury.  Litigation management experience such as assigning files to appropriate defense counsel.  Approving litigation plan into the legal system.  Timely completes legal bill approvals in the legal system.  Manages defense counsel throughout the litigation process.  Recognizes alternative dispute resolutions such as mediation; arbitration and structured settlements to resolve litigation.  Completes trial reports on all prospective trials when notified of trial date.

  • BA/BS in Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
  • Valid CT Adjusters License
  • 10 or more years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong collaborative and time management skills
  • Microsoft Office a plus
