NO UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES

State mandates are requirements imposed by the State on towns and cities which burden property taxpayers with significant costs. Local governments support the objectives of many mandates, but object when the State does not provide enough funding.

Municipalities are too often forced to carry out state policies with little or no state funding. It is inequitable to force communities to assume all or most of the cost - and thus to pass these costs on to residential and business property taxpayers.

There are approximately 1203 state mandates on the books! Contact your state legislators today and tell them to stop imposing unfunded mandates on your community.
