CANDIDATE BULLETIN

Compulsory Binding Arbitration: It’s Parity Time

Introduction

There is a no-cost way by which the State can provide much-needed mandates relief to towns and cities: Reform of the binding arbitration laws for municipal employees and teachers. Reform can occur without compromising the integrity of the systems. It can be done in a way that is fair to both employers and employees.

And the most important “reform” would not be radical at all – it would simply make the system governing municipalities the same as that for the State.
