PROGRAM OVERVIEW back to top

LEAN is a management approach consisting of principles and methods that focus on the systematic identification and elimination of all “waste” from a process.  Private and public sector organizations alike have adapted and applied this approach to manufacturing plants, healthcare organizations, office environments, service-delivery processes, and most recently, to government.  Simply put, LEAN is a growth strategy that allows us to better serve the people of Connecticut in this challenging economy. This is accomplished by maximizing our most valuable resource, our employees, and their vast knowledge regarding the best practices of the programs and services they provide.

This three hour course will orient you to LEAN thinking and how it can be applied in government.  It will also provide a foundational understanding of LEAN tools, their benefits and how to use them.
