The CT Partnership for LTC: 1. Learn about the State's innovative program, the Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care, and how it can add to your long-range financial security. You will benefit from this forum if you are between 30 and 65 years of age and have (or plan to have) assets of at least $75,000 (excluding car and home); 2. What you need to know before buying long term care insurance; and 3. Learn about the risks and costs of nursing home and home care and why it is important to consider these long term care factors in retirement planning (knowledge that you can extend to others).

Learn how your local Area Agency on Aging is helping older adults and individuals with disabilities remain in their communities for as long as possible. This program will describe the origin of the agency in the Older Americans Act, the demographic imperative of investing in elder care, and the variety of programs and services available to older adults and how to access them.

  • Learn about the Connecticut Partnership for Long Term Care Program and how it can help you protect your assets should you need long term care;
  • Learn about important decisions to make before buying long term care insurance;
  • Learn about the risks and costs associated with long term care, and whether or not Medicare, Medicaid or other programs help to pay for long term care expenses.
  • Learn how your local AAA helps older individuals with disabilities remain in their communities as long as possible;
  • Learn about the variety of programs and services available to older adults and how to access them.
  • Obtain a good understanding of services provided by the AAA including Assistance with Insurance & Benefits Programs, Elder Abuse and Fraud, Home Modifications & Repair Services, SNAP Assistance, Transportation Options and much more.
