PROGRAM OVERVIEW back to top

CCM and CRCOG are proud to bring you the next session in our partnership series! As part of its statewide Human Resources Portal Demonstration Project, the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) partnered with Pullman and Comley, LLC to create a compendium of model HR documents. Drawing on their extensive knowledge of employment and labor law, the Pullman and Comley team developed HR-related guidelines on key topic areas, including maintaining municipal employees’ personnel records, the electronic conversion of those records, storage requirements and properly documenting employee leaves.

Join this interactive presentation with CCM and CRCOG as we:

  • Explore legal issues concerning municipal personnel file management via a paper-based system or in an electronic format--either in an onsite or offsite server or in the cloud
  • Explain the requirements for Electronic Storage Systems
  • Discuss best practices for the retention of personnel documents
  • Address Personnel File Maintenance, including FOIA concerns
  • Provide guidance on proper documentation that should be created, kept and maintained related to employee leave issues, including FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, sick and other leaves
